Denise meeting with NEA Chair
Denise had two opportunities to meet with National Endowment for the Arts’ newly-appointed Chair Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson when she visited the SF Bay Area.
Here I am with Dr. Jackson at the panel and reception at the Oakland Museum, hosted by Oakland Cultural Affairs Division. Dr. Jackson and Cultural Affairs Director Roberto Bedoya engaged in a discussion about the state of the Arts in our nation.

Denise speaks to Arts Management Students from New York
Denise joined Ralph Remington, San Francisco’s Director of Cultural Affairs, in a talk with students from SUNY-Buffalo’s arts management programs.
Denise shared with them that “there were no arts management programs in California colleges when I began my college career. I had no idea that I could become an arts administrator.” She also talked about her path to her work as an arts funder.
